I really like the idea of the person who tried to insist that he isn't racist by getting black friends. How he tries to get his more racist mother to not be as racist, and instead just causes her to break down in the middle of the street. How this is a nice look at what goes on with a mid transformation, where people are trying to get less racist. Meanwhile, his mother is stuck with her head in the past and can't seem to grasp that things are no longer the way she remembers them anymore.
